You Should Feel
Deep stretch through your outer hips and glutes. Possible intensity. Grounding through your sitting bones.
How to Get Into the Pose
- 1Sit with shins stacked—one shin directly on top of the other
- 2Knees and ankles align, feet flex
- 3Sit tall, hands rest on legs or ground
- 4Option to stay upright or fold forward
- 5If folding, maintain length in spine
Modifications
- •If hips are too tight: Place block or blanket under top knee for support, or sit in simple cross-legged instead
- •If knees are uncomfortable: Don't stack shins, keep legs less aligned
- •If too intense: Stay upright instead of folding forward
- •To deepen: Fold forward over legs while maintaining spinal length
