Wind-Relieving Pose

You Should Feel

Release through your low back. Gentle stretch through your hips. Ease in your body. Softness.

How to Get Into the Pose

  • 1Lie on your back, draw both knees toward chest
  • 2Hold shins, knees, or backs of thighs
  • 3Keep low back grounded on mat
  • 4Shoulders and head stay relaxed on ground
  • 5Can rock gently side to side

Modifications

  • If knees are uncomfortable: Hold behind thighs instead of shins
  • If neck is uncomfortable: Use small pillow under head
  • If too intense: Don't draw knees as close to chest
  • To deepen: Draw knees closer, lift head toward knees, rock side to side
