Turning Towards Curiosity

What to Expect

David guides you through a 35-minute vinyasa flow built around a single shift in perspective: turning toward your body with curiosity instead of criticism. Inspired by a conversation with Ellie Rocher, this class isn't about pushing through or performing — it's about listening. You'll move through Cat/Cow, Sun A and Sun B, a standing warrior series with Extended Side Angle and open-arm twists, Crescent Lunge variations, Runner's Lunge hip openers, Bridge, Reclined Bound Angle, and a closing supine twist into Savasana. The invitation: Notice what story you've been telling about your body — and ask whether it's true, whether it's kind, and whether it was even yours to begin with. Svadhyaya, self-study, isn't self-improvement. It's witnessing. This class gives you the space to do that.

Off the Mat

The habit of criticizing the body doesn't stay on the mat. It runs in the background everywhere — in how you talk about yourself, how much you trust your own instincts, how quickly you dismiss what you're feeling in favor of what you think you're supposed to feel. What David points to in Runner's Lunge is the same question worth sitting with off it: what would change if you actually believed your body was trustworthy? Not perfect. Not performing. Just worth listening to. That's the practice — on the mat and off it.
